Tonight, I arrived expecting a long wait to get a table. After putting my name on the waitlist and being told it would be a lengthy wait, I waited outside for an hour. Despite arriving before many others, I noticed that people who came after me were able to get inside and be seated. No one from the restaurant came outside to call anyone from the waitlist during my hour-long wait. It seems that in order to get a table, you may need to be more assertive and less polite than others. Fortunately, we had a pleasant conversation with other nice people outside and then enjoyed a delicious meal at Pizza Pilgrims down the street, where we were treated well and the food was also excellent.
I visited this restaurant for a quick Thai lunch. I ordered the set green Thai curry with spring roll starters and a coke for £11. The deal seemed a bit humorous since it included the underwhelming spring rolls. Although they tasted okay, the portion size was lacking for a starter. The curry was decent and considering the price, it was a reasonable meal. I have had better Thai meals at other places, but for a cafe lunch, it was decent enough. I would give it four stars, giving it the benefit of the doubt over three stars.
This London restaurant serves the best Thai food we've ever had, very authentic! It's a no-frills cafe with superb Thai cuisine that closely resembles what you'd find in Thailand. The Pad Thai, curries, and papaya salad are all fantastic.
Please refrain from eating at this racist establishment. I 'm still in shock at my experience eating at Maria 's Cafe this week. As soon as I walked through the door I was seated, and was told to immediately move to another table right by the door, to which I replied: I 'm fine where I am seated. Shortly afterwards I was told again, but more aggressively, to move, which I regrettably obliged. As soon as I sat down, the waitress told me to order, which I had no time to look at the menu and was scowled at for wanting to order starters first and have my main afterwards. The food was meh , nothing outstanding, and somewhat tarnished by the racism and discrimination I faced, the racism was subtle but noticeable. I left before having my main and stupidly paid the service charge they inflicted on the bill, not to cause unwanted drama. Guys, let 's not support businesses that don 't deserve our money, which we work **** so hard for. There are better Thai places in London, and it 's time to take a hard stance against establishments that don 't appreciate us as customers.
Discovered this venue last week whilst staying nearby, and looking for breakfast. Excellent value Full English plus toast tea with a bacon sandwich and coffee for £11.00. Dinner menu looks tasty and with a corkage charge of £1.00 per head this place is the radar for our next visit to the big city...and they take cards.
