We were seated outside overlooking the old railroad and D R Canal (see photo . Great start. Then, along came Michael M., our server with his upbeat, positive, and helpful manner. We're on a roll. We ordered drinks and asked for their famous coconut bread to calm down our hunger. My wife and I decided to split two lunch items Rustic Flatbread (photo and Grilled Chicken Sandwich (photo . As you can see from the photo, the flatbread was topped with all kinds of goodies and it was Great! The Chicken Sandwich was also very good and accompanied by some homemade chips (Yum! . All in all it was a first class experience from the service to the food to the ambiance. We will be back.
My wife and I visited the area for the day and Lambertville, NJ, was our last stop before heading home. We visited on a quiet Monday afternoon after the lunch rush so we did not have reservations. We loved the old charm of the building and the architecture. You can see the old railroad tracks outside the window. Service started out really slow and it did not seem like anyone wanted to serve us. It took several minutes for us to get attention. We began our meal with the homemade bread basket. Really nice selection of fresh and tasty breads. I ordered the Black Angus Burger with cheddar cheese and mushrooms. French fries were extra but I still ordered them. My wife ordered the Greek chicken salad. My burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were seasoned nicely where I did not have to add salt or pepper. A rarity. The burger was tasty and held up well in the brioche bun. My wife loved her Greek chicken salad. No room for dessert. The prices were very reasonable and the service turned out to be excellent and friendly. There was ample street parking but your best bet is find a spot in their parking lot. Located immediately after you come over the bridge from New Hope.
What a beautiful historic bar that I've enjoyed several times over the years. Unfortunately, the new owners will be tearing the iconic, historic place apart next week. Entirely unnecessary and it hurts my heart. I will never go back.
Went to the restaurant today after a very pleasant day going in the local shops. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess was friendly and sat us quickly. Our waiter. Michael W was rude and condescending. When my guest question was asked about the menu Michael’s response was a chuckle, and said no one has ever asked us a question like that. My guest asked for a brief description of the lobster cake and how it was prepared. Michael still never answer the question and continue to speak to us rudely as though we were asking him something unreasonable. In addition to his condescending responses, he then began being louder and obnoxious. Because of fear of someone doing something to our food, I decided to observed his interaction with other guest. He was pleasant, friendly and attentive to other guests that were not of color. At the point where he saw my annoyance, he began being much more helpful and gave us better service. I am not sure what the reason was for the initial disregard for us. Maybe it was because we were women or because we were women of color but whatever the reason it ruined the entire experience. We had no complaints about the food It was delicious and our initial greeting was welcoming. I have been to this restaurant several times and have never felt this type of disregard in the past. The food has always been good as well as the service. It was a very disappointing meal and I was embarrassed as I told my friend that it was a nice restaurant and the atmosphere was friendly. In the future, I will look for another restaurant, but if we do come again, I will definitely ask for a different waiter.
Allen from the wine cellar is very knowledgeable about their wine selection, andgreat. We love the Rustic flat bread.
