Schuyler's Country Kitchen - Lakewood

We are on vacation in Chautauqua and happened to drive by this restaurant. I told my partner to stop because it reminded me of the charming mom-and-pop places we love. We were not disappointed! You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and the food they prepare. The staff was fantastic! I highly recommend supporting this place when you're in the Chautauqua Lake area!

Original Review: I've been visiting this area annually, and this was my first time dining here. The staff were absolutely wonderful! Our breakfast was served quickly, and the pancakes were incredibly delicious. However, I found the eggs, toast, and bacon a bit too greasy for my taste. I always enjoy supporting local establishments like this one. Unfortunately, we are unlikely to return, and this is due to our experience with some of the other customers. There were a few rude individuals while we were waiting outside—I'll skip the details on that. Additionally, the seating felt a bit cramped inside. We ended up sitting at the counter, which I usually enjoy, but there was a customer next to me who was coughing without covering their mouth (ugh). Even pre-COVID, that would have bothered me. If I were in the mood for breakfast, I might consider ordering from here again.

Great place! It's small and intimate, and it feels like the staff knows half the patrons by name. They even have a counter where singles can sit. I missed breakfast, but after having lunch, I definitely want to go back. I ordered their special club sandwich, and it was outstanding. I opted not to have chips, but I tried their house-made specialty pickle, which was vibrant and tangy red. Everything was absolutely delicious!

The best eier benedict, the best French toast and the best customer service! we always enjoy our meal here, and the environment is so friendly.
