La Parada Taco Shop - Lakeside

Absolutely fantastic Mexican cuisine! Don't let the name deter you, as it did for me initially. I waited way too long to try this restaurant, and I'm thrilled I finally did. This isn't your typical fast and greasy taco joint; instead, expect high-quality, restaurant-style dishes. The salsas are outstanding, and the homemade chips are delightful (not greasy at all!). Just a heads up, your food might take a little while to arrive because they prepare everything to order—it's fresh and delicious. The portion sizes are generous, so be cautious not to order too much. If you do, the leftovers reheat wonderfully. The prices are incredibly reasonable, which doesn’t mean the quality is compromised. I've sampled about half the menu, and I haven't tasted anything below a B rating. I plan to try the wings next time, and possibly the burger as well. The staff is exceptional—polite, gracious, and generous. I recommend placing your order, grabbing a stiff drink at the CooCoo, and enjoying some chips and salsa while you wait for your amazing Mexican feast. I'll update again once I've tried three-quarters or more of the menu. Recent updates: The Pollo Asado is absolutely delicious—highly recommended! The potato taquitos are fantastic, and the veggie burrito is quite good too!

Formerly La Parada is now Wings Mix Don 't let the name confuse you the Mexican food here is legit. The Burritos are super cheap and really big. Service here is awesome and always friendly.

What kind of taco shop charges you for salsa?¿ I spend almost 10 bucks on a burrito and they only gave me 2 very little cups of salsa. Asked if I could have 2 more and the lady says I have to pay .25 each cup. The price of the salsa isn't the problem. The problem is that I spent 10 dam dollars for my burrito and shouldn't have to to pay extra for something all taco shops give out out for free. Won't go back based of principal. Besides that, the food wasn't very good. Burrito was taco bell size and lacked flavor. Much better places to go around lakeside.
