We stayed at Lakes for 3 days, we ate at this club twice and it is very nice offering Chinese and western food, it is table service and you don't leave hungry. I would recommend this for a good night out and They have pokies. The staff are very friendly and helpful in both the dining room and the bar. We just walked in but I think on long weekends and school holidays you have to book.
Recommended by the Holiday Park, the food was a huge selection of Asian and Western cuisines. I had the chicken schnitzel and salad. Cooked to perfection.
Very busy Mother's Day meal came out quick I think pre cooked a lot of it salad on a Asian dish of pork belly not a good combo won ton nice my fried rice was just cooked very nice
When we first moved to Lakes Entrance, we ate at the Sports and Community Club, and actually paid to join as full members. Since then we have been back twice - the second time was during the busy summer period, and we were unimpressed with the meal, but put it down to the fact that a lot of the food had been pre-prepared. The third time was tonight, and we were very disappointed. We doubt that we'll go back. We had entrees and main meals. I had lamb and veg soup, and my husband had popcorn prawns. My soup came out first, and when the waitress came back to pick up my bowl I had to ask what had happened to my husband's prawns which were also supposed to be an entree. She brought them out then and apologised at the delay. The soup was pretty good, quite tasty, but not what I expected when I ordered a lamb and veg soup - it was basically all blended together so was more of a puree. My husband said that the prawns weren't too bad, but had quite a lot of batter on them. I then had chicken kiev with chips and veg for main - the kiev had a very tough outer, I like my kiev to be crispy, not leathery. The insides were pretty much all over the plate which mean my chips were soggy with garlic butter, and the vegies, beans and carrots, were overcooked. I was very underwhelmed. My husband had sizzling Mongolian beef and fried rice (which he had to order separately). He found the rice greasy and tasted unusual, so he asked me to taste it. I thought it was greasy, and had been cooked in old oil - it tasted like oil that had been used to cook fish, and it left a really unpleasant taste in my mouth. He said that the Mongolian beef wasn't too bad, but it also was a bit greasy. On the plus side he was able to bring home what he couldn't eat. We tried to tell the waitress that we didn't like the rice, but she just kind of brushed it off - although she had told us she was new. For a total of $65 for our meals, I really don't think it was worth it. We really doubt we'll go back.
