The Open Door At Alley's Ol' Store

This sandwich shop is tucked away from the main path and offers homemade everything. Their French soup is delicious and the setting right next to the river is stunning. There are plenty of beautiful seating options both inside and outside. I will definitely be returning in the future.

This stop was the hidden gem of our mountain vacation in Georgia and North Carolina. We were hungry and the choices were slim, so we stumbled upon this charming little restaurant. Inside, we found a lovely dining area with friendly staff. The owners, kind southern ladies, served up delicious food with top-notch customer service. We were thoroughly impressed and wished we could stay longer (even the bathroom was clean and lovely- a rare find while traveling). As an added bonus, the restaurant had a small park overlooking a river where we could enjoy our meal in the shade. It was a picturesque and refreshing stop after a long day of driving and hiking. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

The Harvest sandwich is fantastic and pairs perfectly with coffee and a piece of cake for a delightful afternoon treat. Just be prepared for a potential wait if both items are ordered at once.

After we left tallulah, we were looking for a lunch option. tripadvisor led us to a unique country store and deli. eating was plentiful and tasty. I've done a guilty joy. fried bologna with pimento cheese. Oh, good. my man was just as happy with his meat store sandwich. if they are looking for good eating in a very pleasant environment. head for the open door.

This is a great off the beaten path general store restaurant. Sandwiches were good and there is an outdoor seating area.
