When we finally ordered, the waitress told us we could order chicken kebabs from outside the restaurant. She took our order and after waiting 30 minutes for even a glass of water to be served to us, she returned to the table and said one of us would have to queue up outside to get the kebabs and it would be another 20 minute wait. Why didn't she tell us this when we ordered???So we cancelled the kebabs order as she should've told us this when we ordered. Then after all that waiting, a couple of plates arrived for 6 people and biryani that we had ordered. We were looking forward to our naans and the waitress returns with some stale looking Lebanese bread without even an apology-although they were making fresh naans outside!!Although we are a decent family from the sub continent, I honestly felt discriminated against tonight( because we look anglo Saxon) Someone needs to remind these people that their restaurant is in Australia and that they need to employ staff that actually know SOMETHING ABOUT Customer Service. Disgraceful.
Don't expect excellent service & you will be rewarded. The beryanis are excellent here & fresh. We came for lunc. We ate, I was impressed, & we left. Another table had complained about something ( presumably slow service) but we expected it. We might try this place again next time we're shopping in Lakemba. The food's worth the wait.
Love their fish deals. The fish is made just like its made at home. This place is a favourite with us when we want to eat food that tastes like home cooked food but without having the trouble of actually preparing the food! We tried the biryani (which if we go by the name should have been their speciality) and we found it sweet! Biryani is really not meant to be sweet! However I go back again and again for their hilsa fish.
Went for dinner. We had to wait long time to get our order. There was a lady, probably the owner, who was chatting constantly (and loudly) with her friends. She was ignoring the fact that her loud voice was creating problem for rest of us. Thoroughly unprofessional. Foods taste below average. Borhani was served in a smaill glass while other restaurants serves in a large glass with the same price ! Not going there anymore.
I had an excellent goat biryani, the meat was amazingly tender and the flavours knocked me socks off! Very reasonable prices, friendly staff too. Great value.
