Consume - Lake Zurich

Last night my friends I experienced our FIRST LAST time at Consume Bar Restaurant in Lake Zurich, IL!! I had the WORST, LOW GRADE MEAT, CUBAN SANDWICH I’ve ever had and it cost $18!! The bread wasn’t crisp french or pumpernickel bread. It was thick, flavorless Kaiser loaf!? The truffle fries tasted like they were drenched in vegetable oil w/a hint of truffle flavoring. The brown cardboard box my meal was served in soaked up some of the oil, as did the brown box my Caesar salad was served in soaked up the dressing. Our waitress Kaitlyn, asked what sides we’d like to order, without mentioning that some sides are included while others are not. When paying questioning the additional charge on our bill, Kaitlyn said, “oh I didn’t know that their was an added cost for that side order?” Kaitlyn then took our receipt to the manager who reprinted our receipt adding the side items name addition cost. We were shocked that we were charged for Kaitlyn’s error. When Kaitlyn returned w/our revised bill she said, “thank you for letting me know, so I can let customers know.” We were not there to train her on their menu. My friends Pinot Grigio was served warm, in a large clear plastic beer cup instead of a glass. Over all, It was a terrible experience we would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! Hopefully a new business will soon replace Consume Bar Restaurant’s location.

Great service, drinks, food wasn't very good, l only tried the southwest chicken wrap though, so don't just take my word for it. Cozy environment, lots of tvs rolling. Good guys hangout place, plenty of beer options.

Unexpected greatness. Not only was the waitress Kaitlyn wonderful, The food was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and hope to come back soon (though we live over an hour away)

A very nice experience. The drink options were interesting and varied. The food options we also interesting. The only area my wife thought fell short was the pork sandwich. This came out dry and had an odd taste for us. Maybe I should have said something to the server but we didn't. That said the other couple said their was very tasty which I was happy to hear. We will be back.

Not only was the beer selection pretty awesome compared to most places in the suburbs, the service was great and the food was incredible. Everyone that went with us was extremely impressed with the quality of everything and we'll definitely be back again. P.S. whoever chooses the music in this place has super good taste!
