South Shore Cottages - Lake Village

This charming little spot by the lake offers great fishing and a lovely view. While the plumbing could use some improvements, the owners are incredibly friendly. Overall, it has a delightful county atmosphere that makes it a nice place to visit.

Friendly staff, but poor management and lack of upkeep detract from the experience. It has great potential to be a lovely place.

On to the details: the interior is charming, and the food is not only delicious but also incredibly affordable. I was amazed to find the largest taco salad I've ever had for just $7.99! Everything was fresh and tasty. My husband ordered a BLT, my son chose a shrimp po'boy, my son-in-law had a burger, and my grandkids enjoyed chicken strips—everyone loved their meals! The Cajun fries and crinkle-cut fries were both outstanding, and the wings were not only huge but also very budget-friendly. The menu offers a variety of options, whether you're looking for something light, a comforting meal, or catering to picky eaters. They have picnic tables outside, a cozy dining area inside, and even a covered patio where you can enjoy your meal in the shade. Eating outside makes it an excellent pet-friendly option for travelers like us! We would absolutely stop by this place again and plan to do so soon!

I really love this place, especially now that Chase Outlaw and his friends own it. It's such a nice spot!

Incredible experience! You absolutely must try the cheese sticks. I'm also a big fan of the signature bread.
