Next, we tried the fried rice Krapao, which was incorrectly listed as "krapao" instead of "krapow." However, since the reviews mentioned it was authentic, we took a chance. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. It lacked the bold flavors typical of Thai cuisine and was overloaded with mushrooms and bamboo shoots, drowning out the rice. Moreover, the meat was sparse and gray in color, making for a very disappointing dish. Still feeling hungry, I decided to sample the Dim Sum. This term can refer to a variety of dishes, so I expected something more specific like steamed dumplings on the menu. The dishes came out surprisingly fast, which suggested they weren't freshly made. At least the dumplings were quite large, but they were filled mainly with chicken, and I couldn’t detect any shrimp or prominent flavors—just an overwhelming amount of black pepper. I genuinely wish the cooks would hold back on the black pepper! Every dish we tried had an overpowering peppery flavor with none of the expected hints of lemongrass, coconut, basil, or any authentic Thai notes. The dumplings were topped with burnt fried garlic that I had to scrape off, and while the dipping sauce was enjoyable, it couldn’t mask the black pepper assault. We quickly paid our bill and left in search of something else to cleanse our palates. This place was a real letdown. It had the appearance of a cozy Thai spot where you might expect a grandmother to be cooking, and the glowing reviews were misleading, leading us to believe it would be authentic. It would benefit from a deeper appreciation of Thai culture—starting with correctly spelling the dishes or perhaps rebranding as "Little Asian Kitchen." We spent a month in Thailand recently and have a great love for the country’s food culture. Throughout our travels, we've dined at many amazing, authentic restaurants, yet this was not one of them! On a positive note, the service was commendable. However, the holiday decorations in July felt a bit out of place, and the paper napkins provided for sharing our fried rice were peculiar. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
I ordered the pad thai and the red shrimp curry. The curry was excellent, but I found the pad thai to be a bit bland for my taste. Nevertheless, I definitely plan to return. It’s a charming little spot!
In search of something other than a burger, my friend and I decided to try Little Thai Kitchen, hoping for some great Thai food in Lake Placid. We often find it challenging to discover authentic and tasty Asian cuisine, whether it's Chinese, Japanese, Thai, or Vietnamese, so we were excited to give this place a shot. We end up visiting at least once a week! We absolutely love their soups with rich broth, flavorful Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and crispy dishes. Their Thai iced tea is also fantastic! I can't recommend this Thai food enough if that's what you're in the mood for. The waitress is incredibly friendly and does her best to accommodate everyone. I've always had a wonderful experience here. Thank you, Chef El!
Crispy spicy ente was really good and something different from what I had other places! it says it was spicy on the menu, but I couldn't taste any flavor. my man and my mother have the pineapple french and they said it was okay.
The food is very good. However, the service and staff really elevate this place to the next level. We had an unfortunate health emergency not at all their fault while dining with them, and they were extremely helpful and kind to us. Absolutely recommended!
