Dack Shack - LAKE PLACID

Great food, a nice selection of local brew and exceptional service. I had the fish and chips and a side of beer battered onion rings.

Crab cakes tasted good. Tuna poke was terrible. Over seasoned, maybe to hide freshness. It was also mushy, not a good sign. Ate at the bar, and service was surly at best. Christine announced when we arrived that they were backed up on the kitchen, which isgood to know. But our food came out fast. She barked at a few other customers who wanted to pick up their food. I?m not sure ifshe wanted us to order food or not, I kind of wish we hadn?t ????

Food was pretty good. Wouldn?t recommend that coconut shrimp but the French dip was very good. Gave it an average rating because the server very much had an ?idgaf? mentality and really didn?t seem to care to serve me. Eating by myself, I felt like I was anuisance for sitting at a booth versus sitting at the bar during a time when the restaurant wasn?t busy whatsoever.

In lake placid for the day. Time was getting late and we needed to eat something. Found the Dack Shack and gave it a try. We ordered the fish tacos and they were great. A bit spicy but very good. I would go back again and might tomorrow.

A gem of a restaurant/bar just far enough away from the main street to feel like a local hangout. Food is amazing, everything on their menu is a stunner with a few show stoppers scattered throughout. Generous portion size. Ordered 2 entrees and an appetizerfor 2 people and we couldn't finish any of them.
