Boat House Grill - Lake Havasu City

The onion rings are perfectly crispy; they break easily when you bite into them, unlike those soggy ones that just end up burning your lips. I could eat the clams all day long—the sauce they’re in is simply the best I’ve ever had. It’s so good that I always finish every last drop with my bread! The drinks are well-made and tasty, too. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and I often recommend it to friends and visitors. We always receive friendly and attentive service, sometimes with a dash of humor. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Havasu. I really enjoy the atmosphere, the staff is always friendly, and there are usually plenty of regulars around, which makes for great conversations.

We also had an issue with not receiving silverware, so we asked for some, but it never came. After waiting for over five minutes, my boyfriend went inside to get it himself, leaving us staring at food we couldn’t eat. We spoke to the manager, who informed us that they hadn't had cream cheese filling for a while, yet it still remained on the menu, and we weren't notified before placing our order. She offered no compensation and shifted the blame, mentioning she would tell the cook. However, I don’t think it’s the cook's responsibility to order fresh strawberries or cream cheese; making a cream cheese filling is a straightforward task and should be part of their basic prep. It felt like the manager was not proactive at all. This was supposed to be our anniversary, and we both left feeling very let down.

DeeDee was an amazing server with a wonderful personality and a cheerful demeanor! She truly enhanced our dining experience. Although our food took longer to arrive than anticipated, she made it worthwhile. The flavors were an absolute delight for our taste buds! The presentation of the dishes was also quite unique. We really appreciated the laid-back atmosphere. You can stop by for a famous cinnamon roll and a specialty coffee or enjoy a full meal in the dining room or bar.

I would rate the Boat House a solid four stars. The standout factor that elevates it from a three-star review is the fantastic service provided by Captain Kirk! He was exceptional—knowledgeable about the menu, knowing exactly what to recommend, and ensuring we were all happy and entertained throughout our meal. The food was decent, but not extraordinary. I really enjoyed the enormous Bloody Mary, though! Lunchtime with that was a treat. Unfortunately, the lobster was overcooked, which was a bit disappointing. I had a similar issue with the ahi tuna; it was seared too heavily. I must admit, being from Seattle, I tend to be particular about seafood. Nonetheless, I have to give credit to Kirk—his service alone would bring us back!
