Mario's - Lake George

I had a wonderful time enjoying dinner at the bar. Nick was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, and he truly made our evening special. The food was delicious as well!

After a long time wanting to try this restaurant I would say it was just ok. I do realize it's lake George (big deal) but prices I would say are a bit on the outrageous side. I believe the chicken parm was $32, that's crazy. I chose the beef bragiole at $29 I thought it was one of the more faily priced menu items. I would rate it as tasty and I did like their sauce but this did not resemble bragiole at all. Every bragiole I've ever had was rolled like a log and stuffed inside. This was just chunks of meat and was a little on the skimpy side. My wife had a soup which she said was very good and an Italian sampler type meal. I believe her meal was $27 and I would call it a decent value. I would have left my review at that but when paying I noticed they charge a 4% credit card fee. 4% really!!??. This charge is illegal in NYS for all that are unaware of this. So unfortunately I had to reduce my tip which I really don't like doing but the 4% is simply an illegal fee that I am not about to absorb. Sorry restaurants and servers but this is how it's going to have to be in these establishments. Because of the very high prices it probably would not have been a place I would have returned to but with the illegal 4% surcharge for the credit card I definitely will not go back.

I'm spoiled when it comes to Italian food. Mario's didn't do it for me.

Great place for dinner, salmon and scallops was awesome. Lots of choices for dinner.

I absolutely adore this family-owned restaurant! It's our favorite spot to visit whenever we're in Lake George!
