Tad's Louisiana Cooking- Lake Charles

We ordered about $50 worth of food (excluding delivery and service fees). The country fried steak was supposed to come with fries, gravy, and toast. However, when it arrived, the food was barely warm, which I can somewhat understand since it was delivered. What I can’t grasp, though, is how a meal can be sent out without all the components. It’s really not that difficult! Who is responsible for checking the plates before they go out for delivery? Clearly, no one. The delivery brought the steak and toast, but we received neither gravy nor fries. This seems to be a common issue on the West side. I’ve learned my lesson, and I won't be ordering delivery again. If I opt for takeout, I’ll be checking my order right there in front of everyone in the restaurant to ensure that everything I ordered is included. I’m tired of poor customer service and even more frustrated with having to call for solutions that require me to drive back to the restaurant for items that were missed in the delivery. When I ordered delivery, I clearly wanted everything delivered, not just part of it, while the rest magically becomes a pickup. Seriously? There’s a saying: “Fool me once…” It’s such a shame because the food is delicious—if you actually get it.

Let me begin by mentioning that we arrived late and were promptly seated, which is quite impressive for a Friday night. Our waitress was fantastic; our drinks were always filled, and our food arrived hot. Everyone in our party of eight enjoyed their meals with no complaints, which is a remarkable feat for any restaurant. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant was clean and featured several TVs playing sports, creating a lively environment.

I had the boiled blue crabs, and they were delicious! I also tried the beignet fries, but unfortunately, they didn't meet my expectations. They had a strange spiciness, almost as if they were fried in the same oil as the seafood, which made them taste unpleasant. There was no one available to share my concerns with at the time, so I ended up calling after I got home. The manager was understanding but not particularly helpful. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

Our group of 6 had lunch. I ordered the hamburger steak with grilled onions, mushrooms gravy-and a side salad instead of fries($1 charge for substitute). The salad was large was fresh. The hamburger steak was good very big with all the toppings. My friend had the catfish bites ,fried shrimp fries. The menu stated the shrimp fish was imported-I’m not a fan. Our waitress could have been better -running from table every chance she got. We had to ask another waitress for a steak knife, cocktail sauce ketchup. We were never offered refill drinks. A glass of tea was spilt our waitress never brought the return drink although she helped clean it up. Most of the menu is fried foods and imported seafood.

This restaurant has some amazing food! Being from Louisiana, I wasn’t expecting such authentic delicious cuisine. Reminded me of home! Our waitress, Sydney was great! She was very kind and a great server! Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
