Saltgrass Steak House - Lake Charles

Dined here during our stay at the GN Monday, 5/23. As usual, dinner and service were great. My wife and I both ordered steaks and they were seasoned and cooked perfectly. This is the strongest place to eat here out of the 3 (Cadillac, Landry, Salt Grass). If you're coming to stay here at the GN, book your meal here and you will not be disappointed. Advice: Book your table in advance.

I had my first visit to this restaurant, and it was outstanding! Our waiter was incredible—very attentive and friendly. I ordered the seafood fondue, and it was simply amazing! We also tried the ribs, grilled shrimp with asparagus, and the surf and turf featuring steak and shrimp, and everything was excellent. However, my favorite was definitely the frozen sangria margarita—it was so delicious!

I had a wonderful lunch experience! I ordered the 9oz filet with shrimp, and it was cooked just right. Johnny delivered outstanding service throughout my visit.

The prices at Saltgrass are a bit steeper than what I'm used to, but the food was truly exceptional. We kicked off our meal with nachos and fried pickles as appetizers, both of which were fantastic. The fried pickles were some of the best I've ever tasted. For my main course, I chose the Laredo chicken, which was packed with flavor and perfectly charred; the combination of poblano peppers, seasonings, and toppings was just right. My daughter opted for the potato soup, and I have to admit, I enjoyed it more than my own homemade recipe. Everyone else at our table was satisfied with their meals, with no complaints at all. Our server delivered excellent service throughout the evening. I did deduct one star because the lighting was extremely dim. I prefer to be able to read the menu without having to use my phone's flashlight, and it would be nice to see what I'm actually eating. The presentation of the dish is an essential part of the dining experience, so the poor visibility was a bit disappointing.
