La Pho House - Lake Charles

I ordered the Phó Ga with vegetable broth. That was all! The taste was wonderful. Although it is not on the menu, I will get a Phó with tofu my next visit. They said they can record changes in the menu. I love seeing a place that takes care of customer diets. Shows that they care about their customer needs. It was pretty busy all the time I was. I'll be back for more. The Honey Glazed Chicken with roasted rice is also quite delicious! Oh! Another bonus is THEY HAVE BUBBLE TEA!!!!!

Nice place to sit for a quick visit or a good long meal. With a great atmosphere and helpful staff, serving Vietnamese food is what these people do. Stop by and show love for your locals.

The Pho Tai is delicious and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere didn't really wear me. And I'm used to serving Pho with a tray of herbs that I add to my taste. It's part of my experience. But... it has fulfilled my desire for tasty Pho at a great price!

I have lived in various parts of the country with high Vietnamese populations. All the Pho places I was across the country have a mother and pop feel at them. If you go to these places, you get a sense that they use their family recipes. These places are good to go. I know good Pho when I see it and taste it. When I got in here, I didn't get the feeling. I didn't see any Vietnamese workers, but I thought I would try anyway. I ordered the Pho Deluxe. When it came to my table, I immediately noticed that the broth was completely clear with a yellow/orange/brownish ink. It just looked weird. It also didn't taste authentic and there wasn't enough meat in it for the price I paid. I felt like an imitation. It was too oily, but I could finish the bowl anyway. I'm not happy. Overall, I was not too impressed.

We waited a long time for our food even at an off peak time. My husband's food came out wrong. My food wasn't hot. His new dish was labeled as spicy but tasted like Campbell's soup. Both of our plates were extremely heavy on veggies and very little protein. Pot stickers were the only thing we liked but even those tasted like the frozen type from Costco. Overall it was a bad experience and we won't be back.
