Mugs Away Saloon - Laguna Niguel

Really enjoyed our quick stop! Lady bartenderess was quick and friendly. No pretenses! Customer offered me a stool as soon as we walked in (we were dressed for a formal wedding) Best pre-wedding stop we 've ever made! Thank you Mugs Away for taking the edge off!! And thanks to the gentleman that was kind enough to give me a seat! What a nice experience although very short!! Will return when in the area!!

Great place for the annual Mooning the Amtrack festival. No interference from the police.

As soon as I walked in, I stood in line waiting to order. The bartender with black hair approached me, looking angry. Without any explanation, she flatly refused to serve me. I was completely puzzled and confused, not understanding what the issue was. All she said was, "You can't be in here, and that's all I'm going to say!" Then she told me to check with the bartender outside and just walked away. I’ve never experienced rudeness like this before, especially since she didn’t speak to anyone else in that manner. I tried not to jump to conclusions—maybe there was something going on inside the bar that I wasn’t aware of since I was out of town. However, the bouncer outside checking IDs didn’t say anything to me. I ended up getting a drink from the bartender outside and asked her if there was a special event happening that would prevent me from going inside. She had no idea why the other bartender told me that. At that point, I decided to leave and I will not be returning. Everyone deserves respect, no matter who they are or where they come from. It's unacceptable to treat anyone this way, especially in a place of business. I've never left a bad review for any establishment before, and those who know me can vouch for my friendly nature. I just hope that no one else has to go through the same experience I did.

This is a straightforward dive bar. It's quite compact, just spacious enough for a bar, a pool table, darts, and a few other things. As is typical, the walls are adorned with plenty of decorations. The high ceiling is a nice touch, allowing for even more items to be displayed, which adds to the atmosphere. The staff is friendly, although on some nights, the bartenders might step away from the bar to join in a game of darts. The beer selection on tap isn't extensive, but it covers all the essentials. It's a favorite hangout for pool enthusiasts, and you’ll notice many regulars using their own custom cues.

This is the best local bar in town! The atmosphere is fantastic, there are many friendly people, and Jose's tacos are absolutely the best!
