Superb tapas restaurant, just outside the town centre. Well worth a visit. Seasonal opening only though. The range of tapas food is extensive and imaginative and everything we have tried has been great. The restaurant also has good views of the countryside and the town below. Service is a good standard and the prices are all very reasonable. Recommended, especially if you a seeking an alternative to the normal rather unimaginative offerings in local Portuguese tourist-orientated restaurants.
We eat here twice on our recent stay in Lagos. We were a party of 6 first time and eight the second on both occasions we had a 6 month old baby. The food was delicious cooked to order well presented and well proportioned. Their white sangria is amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful.
My daughter and I visited this restaurant when visiting Lagos last year following reviews on tripadvisor we had a lovely meal and was surprised at how reasonable it was. We visited again in July this year wondering if it would be as good we were not disappointed. The goats cheese with marmalade is one of my favourites.
Saw this restaurant from the main road in passing. So I did a quick internet search and called to make a booking for dinner. My partner and I were greeted by friendly staff who seated us next to the window where we had a lovely view of the sea and the mountains. The restaurant itself was surprisingly modern as it looks a bit tired from the outside. It was clean, comfortable and looks nice inside. It would suit families and couples looking for a romantic meal i would say. We hadn't had tapas for a while and asked the waitress for their advice. She happily explained what she recommended and the fact we could always order more if we were still hungry. We followed her advice and had 6 dishes between us. We also had bread and olives. The food was delicious and the 6 dishes was more than enough. We still made room for dessert of course! We had a lovely time and enjoyed our experience at O Marafado. If we return to Portugal next year we definately intend to visit again. All in all I would recommend this restaurant. Get a taxi so you don't have to flip a coin for the designated driver!
