Atalaia - Lagos

We got to this restaurant by mistake. Our aim was Restaurante da Mena, just right next to. Other people got there by the same simple mistake. I guess that some good reviews are from the other restaurant. First the manager or the waitress chief was very rude. Then, they confused the orders between tables, and last, one of the dishes was literally inedible. It was a meat re-cooked so many times that it was like a shoe sole. I have to say that the waitress saw our faces and asked about the food, and we informed her about this, and they did not charge us for this dish, but the rest was not good, and to be a close menu, it was expensive.

I have enjoyed several lunches over many years as part of a yachtie/expat walking group. Quality of food, service and price exceptional. However, yesterday’s experience as a couple was dreadful. We waited as waiters and waitresses bustled past ignoring us. I eventually tapped one on the shoulder and politely asked for a table. She gestured us to a small table amongst the guys in line to pay their bills. A pretty awful spot. There we sat for twenty minutes, desperately trying to catch an eye. Gave up, walked out. Good luck trying but we shall never return.

For locals but tourists are welcome (joke). The car park is usually packed at the regular dining times.Only Portequese credit/debit cards are accepted.The food is heavily biased towards local tastes and is quite good.The starter of goats cheese with honey and walnut is reallly exceptional.

Portuguese court of the day .oliven, fresh bread garlic dip supp,encreme by spinat .primary courses turkey in cream sauce and grilled chicken. liter vino, desert and coffee fantastic worth one of two restaurants next to the door that serve between either or depending on the most important choices. the best of both restaurants by far
