The Olive Tree - Lagoa

Food was always impressive, I dined here 5/7 nights on holiday and it was consistently good, even better than restaurants in town. Varied menu, lovely fresh, tasty food always presented beautifully. Staff are fantastic, cannot do enough for you and made experience so enjoyable. Would recommend 100% and can’t wait to return at some point!

The Olive Tree restaurant failed on two counts. First, the food in the hot section of the breakfast buffet was always luke warm or cold. Second, one evening we brought in eight friends for dinner and all ten of us had the Tasting Menu which was pre-booked. It was a disgrace. Tiny portions, no attempt to match the wine with the courses and ridiculously expensive. We all went home hungry and vowed never to eat there again. Vale d'Oliveiras is a top class operation which is badly let down by the restaurant. I suggest you stop offering the Tasting Menu

Decent food, main dishes was bland and cold when served Wines was good and service in general was also good Location is beautiful but not really worth the travel for me who was driving for 20-30min to get there

First time at this restaurant in the resort but surely won’t be the last. The food was exquisite. Each individual flavour shining through. Each course better than the previous and the complementary amuse bouche and after dinner chocolate were also super. The service was impeccable and waiting staff knowledgeable but not stuffy. Friendly. Unfortunately we don’t drink so didn’t take advantage of our waiter’s offer of advice on wine. None of the four of us could possibly find fault with anything, not even the reasonable bill.
