We love the Lafayette location. The food is always fresh, the service is always great and the restaurant is always clean and comfortable. They have the best fried mozzarella in town and of course nothing beats their breadsticks and alfredo.
I love the tour of Italy plate. You could actually fill up off their soups and salads as well. Their signature Italian dressing is so good.
I come here often, but I'm leaving a review solely because I've never had such incredible service from a server before. I think he said his name was Michael, and he was in the section on the right-hand side of the restaurant closest to the bar this morning at around 11 am. I don't think I've received that kind of service at any of the high-end restaurants I've been to around the world, I kind of forgot I was at Olive Garden for a minute. Super courteous, attentive, and accommodating to our picky requests.
It's been a while since I've dined at an Olive Garden and now I remember why. Don't get me wrong-the food here is good if you're wanting Italian but if you go anytime other than lunch or happy hour it is crazy expensive! I'm talking $20 an entree. That's just crazy. I can go to a number of restaurants in the area and get better dishes for a fraction of that price. That being said, they do have some pretty good specials for lunch and if you're balling go ahead and give those $20 entrees a try. So far I haven't had a bad meal here. Their salad is legendary because it is so freaking good. Although they sell their famous Italian dressing in stores now, I can never get mine to taste as good as theirs and I crave it at least weekly. The bread sticks are good too, but I really love the salad most. I've also tried the Chicken Piccatta (yum), the Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara (double yum) and the Chicken Gnocci soup (think chicken and dumpling soup). If you're feeling really indulgent I suggest the Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake. It was unlike any dessert I've had...rich and not too sweet. Perfect for fall!
