Los Sombreros Mexican - Lafayette

My husband and I went to Sombrero's for lunch. I got an Enchilada plate and he got a fajita bowl. We both had iced tea to drink. We enjoyed it. Service was great. I did notice the floors weren't clean, with food on them around table. Also, the ladies room was not that clean. It looks like they are working with a skeleton crew so that may be the reason why certain duties are overlooked. There were two male FOH people. Both sat people and waited on tables.

The enchilada had canned Hormel chili on top and the burrito had canned chicken meat inside. The salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce with added chili pepper flakes. This was hands down the worst Mexican food I have ever tried. My granddaughter had chicken nuggets, which seemed to be pre-fried chicken nugget patties cut up into strips. However, the French fries were the only redeeming part of the meal.

The service was friendly, but the server was often distracted by her phone. The food was mediocre, I ordered the chicken fajitas and they lacked flavor. However, the salsa was delicious!

First off our server was awesome. That is the only reason for the 3 stars. Kudos to you. Everything we got was very bland though, got the beef enchiladas and almost didn't finish them. The refried beans just tasted like beans with no seasoning added, did not try my wife's meal but she had similar complaints. Probably not going back for a second time.

These foods are very delicious and they are tasty but 3 stars is given because food are great and my mom ordered habanero sauce that claims to be orange but instead my mom arrived with a bag and the time we opened in the cup it was green habanero sauce instead. And it sounds a bit misleading. But the Mexican food is good though.
