Chris's Po-boy - Lafayette

It was fine, but nothing extraordinary. I only liked it because I didn’t dislike it, but overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed. It’s basically a sandwich shop with a glazed twist located in a gas station. The food was decent, but the portions were small, and nothing stood out as fantastic. It also took a while for our order to be prepared, especially for three people and their fries. Bringing it home, it felt a bit dull, especially since it’s just at a gas station. Honestly, not much to write home about. I really wish Old Tyme had a location on this side of the city.

OK. That's it. Not bad service, but nothin special. Not bad food but nothing special. Did enjoy the gumbo, but the Special wasn't very special. I might just be spoiled by the Darrell's special in my hometown of Lake Charles

The location is just as good as the original. This is a classic style poboy, which I enjoy. Even during my latest visit, the fries weren't fresh. I asked for them to just be dropped in the grease again. (I'm not picky) Not only did they provide a new order of fries, but they removed it from the bill. Awesome service and great food. Will definitely be returning to this location.

This Hometown boy, that married an elegant Hungarian lady, wanted to show her a bit of what Cajun PO-boys taste like. She was very impressed with Chris's Po-Boys.

Who decides where the best po' boy in town is? I have my opinion, and it doesn't point to Chris's. However, they do make a solid sandwich. I tried Chris's special, and let me tell you, make sure to grab some napkins for this one. I went for the full pony, dressed with potato salad, and it also comes with chips and a pickle spear. The sandwich itself is quite substantial. Chris uses real roast beef from a pot roast, so no deli meat here. The vegetables are fresh, and the bread was pretty good—slightly crispy, but nothing that would require a vacuum to clean up afterward. Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad; just a bite was enough for me. Barg root beer is also available. Chris exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be adding this spot to my po' boy rotation.
