The Akropolis - Lafayette

Best gyros in town! They mild sauce fire! I thought portillos was closest good italian beef and sausage! Nope this place got it way cheaper and twice the size. To be honest I like akropolis better. Major, major go!

Always one of my favorite places to grab a to-go order for lunch or dinner. I always get the Athenian Gyro and I’m never disappointed. The time it takes to place the order and get your food is often less than 10 minutes, but I’ve had it be less than 5 minutes. The serving size of the gyro (comes with fries) is extremely generous and I always have to convince myself to not eat the entire thing because it’s too much food but it’s oh so delicious. Although they have a large offering of food, I will always recommend getting the Athenian Gyro.

Great family owned counter serve joint with delicious homemade Greek food! Great prices, generous portions, and lots and lots of options! Everything is made fresh and you can get all the classics like dolmades, avgolemono, gyros, etc. They also have some delicious looking desserts available, but we didn't have room to try them out this time around.

The food and service at this restaurant are both outstanding. It is my top choice for Mediterranean cuisine in the city. I personally prefer to get my food to go because the atmosphere is not very relaxing. However, the restaurant is clean and well-organized. The parking situation is a bit restrictive, but that is not really the restaurant's fault.
