Absolutely phenomenal food and service. We were a large group of 10 people and we were blessed with a very attentive server who took care of anything we needed. Caroline was fantastic and we very much appreciated her hospitality. The food all came out perfectly and was well timed! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a really unique restaurant for a celebration! 10/10Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator was accessible for upstairs seating
Situated in the middle of Riverfront park at the old Navel Base, MOMO's offers good food, great services, and a fantastic view. The Restaurant is in a restored Building L which is a former home or office at the Naval Base Our excellent service was provided by Kristen. We each started with a cocktail. I had and loved, the Espresso Martini, consisting of Three olives triple shot vodka, Kahlua, Six Twenty Carolina cream. An absolute beautiful and delicious drink I also liked but not as much the wife's Tabby's Cabin, which was Baked Apple and Brown Sugar-Soaked Vodka, Maple Syrup, Sparkling Apple Cider, Pomegranate, Rosemary. Unfortunately, since she did not like her drink, I gave her my wonderful Martini. The wife typically does not like Brussels Sprouts, so I had to convince her to split this surprisingly large appetizer with me. This turned out to be an old star order as she really loved the Bacon soy vinaigrette, sesame, wildflower honey sauce on the fried golden nuggets. The wife ordered and enjoyed MOMO Burger Smashed patty, shaved lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American cheese, special sauce, and Martin's bun. The sauce was very interesting, for you older folks think Big Boy Burger when Shoney's was under that franchise. My Shrimp Grits Adluh gouda grits, with pulled pork, crème fraiche, and a smoked tomato gravy. While I did enjoy this, it is a very rich, slightly heavy dish and perfect if you are hungry.
We are visiting from NC and stopped in for a late lunch. We had an absolutely wonderful meal and experience! The restaurant is hidden in the trees by the River front and it makes for quite the South Carolina feel with water and Spanish moss nearby! We tried several sides and starters including the cheese grits, cucumber and tomato salad, Pimento cheese and pickles and hush puppies. All of the food was wonderful, but I can honestly say that those were the best Hush Puppies we’ve ever had! The staff was so sincerely friendly and made us feel very welcome!
I admit, I am a slacker when it comes to trying out new restaurants in North Charleston, but no more! MOMO delivered! The menu is small but perfectly curated. Every single item on the menu is cooked to perfection. We started with the hush puppies and Brussels sprouts which were absolutely amazing! The hush puppies are so good, we ended up ordering another. Brussel sprouts were perfectly seasoned and had a lovely vinaigrette glaze. For entrees pretty much our whole party got the steak frite. The chimichurri that accompanied the steak was fantastic, the best I've had in a long time. Also, come thirsty. The caprese martini was original and delicious. I've never had a cocktail quite like it. Shout out to our server Natalia. She was great!
