A wide selection of Artisinal bread: Among my favorites are Lin et millet and the olive oil bread. but wait! There are more! the best croissants in a 100 km radius. and the addiction of my Hubby, Croissant aux amandes, plus cakes and cakes that are reddish by almonds. Lunchtime try the different Foccacia: I love the Veggie. Coffee is fresh and high quality. the only problem with this place is the weight you put on the sampling of their wars. I'm on every trip north.
I don't eat gluten and miss bread very much. Now I don't have to give up, eat bread, they have the best gluten-free options I've ever tasted!
If you are new to the area, be sure to visit this small bakery! Everything they offer is absolutely delicious. Our favorites include the walnut bread, olive oil bread, almond croissant, and much more. They also have a variety of special cheeses, gourmet olives, local apple jellies, tomato sauce, and Fair Trade coffee. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit this store, as the wait is definitely worth it!
We tried the hot chocolate and it was awful. The server simply opened a carton of chocolate milk and called it hot chocolate. The candy we ordered had no flavor. I am baffled as to how this restaurant is still in business.
In early May I was in Paris and absolutely fell in love with not just the city but the food... But when I came home I fell into kinda a food depression... Let me explain... the highlight of my trip was waking up in the...morning and having a fresh Baguette, Confiture, Coffee and a glass of fresh squeezed Orange Juice on the terrasse and people watching... For weeks since my return I couldn't find a Baguette or Croissant anything close to the ones in Paris... Until I dropped into this little bakery beside Ultramar by the 329 in Lachute... LACHUTE???? yup Lachute my home town... The smell as you walk in is absolutely wonderful... yeast... olive oil... that wonderful little aroma of those slightly burnt edges... They have a huge selection but in small quantities... Let me tell you Boulangerie-Patisserie Dauphin is not a Parisienne boulangerie but it's damn close... Honestly the best bread you can get in lower Laurentians and Montreal... it's that good Suggest their Baguette with Rye it's absolutely heaven...
