The owner is super nice, the restaurant is quite cozy and the food is delicious in a refined way. Cucina valdostana is what you are going to eat. Worth trying!
Fantastic menu here, delicious food and great service. Our children were so well looked after with their order taken quickly and served before us. They had gnocchi three nights in a row they liked it so much! Thank you.
Ate here as a group. Food was really excellent. Service was really friendly. It was very quiet the night we ate, probably because there was heavy snow fall and it’s a bit off the beaten track. Please don’t let that put you off. It’s so worth the trip. And excellent value too.
The view is amazing and the food matches. I enjoyed the lamb rib-chops. They were the best I’ve had. Tender and tasty. The sauce was perfect with goat cheese. The accompanying veg and potatoes were superb! Semifredo was flawless. I will be back again!
The menu at this family run restaurant is simple, a good confident sign that the dishes are prepared in house by the chef rather than brought in or pre-frozen. The fare is delicious and seems to go beyond the more usual local menus of meat and polenta, offering excellent quality steaks, delicious and delicate starters (try the crepes alla valdostana for the lightest crepe with the creamiest and tastiest but not overpowering cheese sauce, or any of the hand made pasta dishes . Re the ambiance, softer lighting in the evening (maybe candles on the tables? would add even more to the lovely atmosphere, and as the light falls, would take over from the stunning sunset views of Mt Blanc which guests can enjoy from the huge restaurant windows. The restaurant opens to non residents after about 8.15. We have no hesitation in recommending Les Combes to anyone on holiday in the Aosta Valley. A good quality, reasonably priced restaurant experience.
