Le Valentin - La Roche-sur-Yon

Went here for dinner at 8 on a Saturday and were glad we'd reserved a table and got our order in before another 15 people came it at roughly the same time. The food was superb, 5 massive gambas in the salad (the only sour note all evening was the salad was awash with dressing), the quails breast dish of the day, duck in a raspberry sauce, accompanied by perfect little souffles and potato rosti. Toasted local cheese and a beautiful chocolate pudding. The recommended pichet of Ventou was good value and all in all a great experience. Our waitress was the only member of staff serving and was kept running to and fro all night. I hope she gets paid heaps because she earns it and if you're a large party, you need to be patient because it's worth it.

Travelling in France we stopped in La Roche Sur Yon for the first time ever. Found this little restaurant. What a treat, a typical small french restaurant with a set menu at 24euros. The ambience was nice and relaxed, the wine list very reasonable with some tasty wine without being silly. The star of the show for us was the food. 3 Courses of delight In particular our main course of duck in a raspberry sauce with a pumpkin souffle and other treats all complimenting each other. If you are in La Roche and are not sure where to go try Le Valentin we are sure you will enjoy it.

Small restaurant that is worth a visit.Very friendly and personalized welcome. Fresh produce, mastered dishes (thank you to the chef). very good quality/price ratio.I highly recommend, redo.Thank you.

Excellent meal, warm restaurant, we enjoyed the experience. We'll be back.
