Sushi Yasu - La Prairie

There are some things that are just too good not to mention. The tsubugai karaage are the yummiest little things I had in a while! And we sat in the bar and talked to the cook who made the sushi. He proposed a few different things. We took his advice and he was beaten! I would definitely recommend not even looking at the menu and asking only the friendly staff for their advice!

This little joint houses no more than 20 25 people at a time but never dissapoints! The name of this restaurant is misleading as they serve more than just sushi. They serve japanese fare in all varieties, from hot and cold appetizers like takoyaki...and beef sashimi, to bento boxes and full meals. With all choices on their menu being very reasonably priced and delicious, it is often very difficult to choose the next dish to try. They even have dishes on the wall that are off their official menu. (Hiyashi Chuka, a cold noodle dish is my personal favorite) Their fish selection is ALWAYS fresh and tempura always beautifully fried. My wife and I often go on Tuesday nights as it does tend to get quite busy on Fridays and Saturdays. They are (unfortunately) closed on Sundays and Mondays. The service is on point and very friendly, always a smile on their faces, always having the best of experiences in as many times visiting this little gem in the corner of La Prairie. Pay this place a visit, you'll be be genuinely pleased with the experience.

Been going to see this family for their sushi for 15 years+ even when they we're located at the brossard spot, it's where i learned to appreciate sushi and Japanese cuisine. Fresh fish and a delightful menu will have me coming back for a long...time.

We went there few times but were being a while ago. Today, my hubby and I decided to go there for lunch. We ordered two set lunch which cost $11 $12 and we were full. The tempura were good and can see the oil...they used were good, not dark brown in colour. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the quality the taste.

I have been visiting this restaurant almost every month for many years, and I can confidently say that the food quality is consistently excellent. I believe this can be attributed to the Japanese owners who value quality and consistency.
