Rolands Restaurant Bar - La Montana

It is a nice setting, with a very charming guy, Roland. The drinks are expensive and most importantly, we got sick (stomach) after drinking them.

After dinner we have a few drinks at the Roland's Bar: nice music, welcome by Roland behind the bar. Under the sky full of stars we rate as a beautiful experience. We haven't tried the food, so we can't evaluate it. The beach of Manzanillo is safe at night, even the police came to the party.

We had the best Mojito's here, they were so good we had a second round. The fish cooked on the grill is excellent and non of us had a bad meal. We highly recommend this stop but bring bug spray if you are coming for dinner.

Went twice to this bar which is located in south of the island. To get to the bar from north point takes 5-7 k pesos for mototaxi. However, it could be more convenient to rent motorbike and to come there. In this bar you can swim in nice beach and have great food and expensive drinks (Mojito 25k, Cuba Libre 20K). However, the atmosphere was amazing and I believe we were the first Kazakhs to visit the bar. I left my Kazakh flag there so when you go there do not be surprised to see a Blue Flag with a nomadic Eagle! Recommend this place but bring money with you! Beware that staff is very Caribbean and relaxed.

After reading in the lonely that he didn't miss this bar atmosphere reggae we decided to spend the evening there, great luck on the same day we were told of a concert tonight. We arrive at around 8:00, the place is empty, we drink a beer the bar fills little by little. Around 9pm, the famous roland begins to tour the tables to ask 10,000 pesos per person for the concert coming. There was no information about the fact that the concert was paying, and even at the bar when we ordered we didn't tell us. I ask him what time the concert begins because we were going to leave around 10:00, or in an hour, and since there was always no trace of any concert, it would make me pay for nothing. Anyway, no answer on his part, he even seems annoyed and tells us that the entrance to the bar is paying as early as 8:00 p.m. and that since it is 9:00 p.m., we have to pay. We'll solve it to give the equivalent of 10th for 3 and take a beer to wait for this famous concert we paid. One hour after nothing, apart from the bar being full to crack and that roland is going to ask for some randomly in gringos groups, I doubt that everyone pays. Anyway, we'll leave around 11:30 without hearing any music notes.
