Chedi Thai Bistro - La Jolla

We were happy to visit La jolla with Thai food, in a restaurant that was once one of our favorites: royal thai, now chedi bistro. the restaurant could be attractive, but it is not well kept and looks a bit shady and tedious. from beginning to end, it was a catastrophe. we had a reservation, but when we arrived, they said there was no table, although there were obviously some open. we have not received any attention for the first ten minutes until my man asked the man on the writing for something water. we did not seem to have a certain server. a young woman came once and apologized for waiting for that. Apart from this high point, we had to ask for everything, and no one checked with us how we did it. long after we finished, we had to ask for the check. the food was in order, nothing unforgettable, but pleasant. the service was not present, and the servers were clear. the kitchen seemed slow and deorganized, and not all food came at the same time. they don't seem to care about their guests at all. this is a shame and inspired me unfortunately to write this critique to protect others from a disappointing experience.

The Thai food scene in san diego is not too big, and this place was averaged in comparison to the rest. the menu was quite American, which was an end for me since I wished everything had more warm. the steamed mushels for the appetizers were nothing special, as if they had previously steamed frozen mushes. the escape was good that I got green curry and it came with rice. the dessert was not too great. the friends bananen are not fried in a teig, but packed in beaten sausages, they were lukewarm (not hot) and chew (not crispy), so they seemed to be sitting under the hot lamp for an hour before we served. at the end of the night the server fell casually out of the review for us without a single thank you or even a smile, which was disappointing it was on the more expensive side for Thai food I could get elsewhere, so I will only save money next time and go into the hole-in-the-wall, authentic Thai restaurants I am used to.

I had the pleasure to choose this place for lunch at a visit to la jolla. some of the best Thai food I had. flavorful, correspondingly spicy...so tired of tinted gland Thai...great. I would highly recommend this place.

The ambiente is beautiful, the service friendly, but deorganized. we waited too long for order and eat and drink. some of the dishes were delicious while others left much to wish. too expensive for Thai food!

We (a family of three) are Thai food fans and have visited Thai restaurants all over the world. This allows me to say that this is probably the worse Thai food that we have ever tried. The soup that was supposed to be medium-hot was almost sweet; the pad thai was made with a different kind of pasta and a sweet sauce; the lamb had too much pepper. Desserts were not bad, though. I had stiky rice and my daughter had taro. I am sorry to give this negative review but I think it could help the chef to improve its cooking.
