Cowboy David's Special Order Bakery

Fresh off a two night stay at Big Sky Cabin at KVRGC and still trying to find the words to effectively describe this place. The cabin was clean, well appointed and beyond comfortable. I hold myself to a pretty high standard and this place didn't disapoint one bit! It is obvious there is a mountain of love, time and hard work that the owners put into KVRGC and the guest experience. The Big Sky Cabin faced SE overlooking the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and couldn't have been more private and peaceful. There are magical times of the day where you don't hear anything other than the wind through the forest and the chatter of abundant wildlife everywhere. Do yourself a favor and bring all your food and supplies with you, so you can take as much advantage of the short time you have at KVRGC, because once you are there you won't want to leave. Like I told Joe the only way this stay could have been better is if my new address was Big Sky Cabin and I had a life time supply of cowboy cookies!!

I was very fortunate to receive a gift certificate towards a weekend cabin rental at the Kickapoo Valley Ranch! My friends and I were amazed at all aspects of the ranch, from when we first arrived on the property with an extremely friendly welcoming to the resort from the lama family and Cowboy David, which included a thorough review of the amenities at the resort. Cowboy David provided recommendations for dining in the area, making certain to find out our likes and expectations prior to making recommendations. Then off to the cabin we went to get rid of our luggage before we headed into town for dinner. Our plan was to just drop off the luggage and head out for dinner, well as soon as we walked into the cabin, once again amazed at how nice the cabin was, had to sample the delicious cookies that were waiting for us, then went out on the back deck and saw the beautiful view we knew this was not going to be our only time here. It is so obvious that Cowboy David and Cowboy Joe have paid attention and delivered every amenity that you would expect from a 6 Star lodging location (yes, I know I added a star more than normal). We were also very fortunate to be able to purchase a sampling of 3 of the cakes that Cowboy David's Special Order Bakery has to offer, they were all remarkably delicious! We will highly recommend the Kickapoo Valley Ranch to everyone we know as well as those we don't know. Larry, John Casey

We’ve camped in the Kickapoo Valley before and driven by the Guest Ranch many times. We decided to book for a 50th birthday celebration and were not disappointed. Beautiful, simple cabins with incredible views and all the amenities. Joe has thought of everything and showed our family such kindness. Check out the website before you go as it does a great job of explaining the property and the magic of the country around it. Cannot recommend this place more highly!!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The cleanliness of our cabin(crazy Jack's), the quality linens, the coffee, the peace and tranquility of the location and the cookies all made for a very wonderful getaway. There is no doubt that we will return!
