It goes through quickly, so maybe we waited about 30 minutes in total. It was the only restaurant in the area with a line, so I knew we had chosen a good place. We sat on a two-top and ordered coffee and food. They are known for their arepas and typical Colombian food, so we went with empanadas paisas and two arepas. I had the arepa de huevo and it was defined. I think the Empanadas were my favorite. I think our bill came to about $20 for both of us, so the price is really right.
On a Monday holiday for breakfast and the tables were full of reserved signs, but they welcomed us inside. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely return.
This is a great restaurant l. Lovely environment and great food quality. Service is good as well. Coffee and Deserts very quality
Went to Abasto for lunch. Allowed plenty of time since friends had “pico y placa” (driving restrictions) and couldn’t drive their car after 3:00 pm. Two of us ordered a variety of appetizers. Appetizers arrived in a timely manner and were delicious. Ratatouille that came with the pulpo was wonderful. Loved the aji made with lulo that accompanied the empanadas paisas. Other appetizers were just as yummy. Natural juices we ordered were just a wonderful as the appetizers. Third friend ordered the “ojo de bife a la parrilla.” Long after two of us were done with the first round of appetizers, friend’s meat had not arrived at the table. Explained to our waitress that we had “pico y placa” and she placed a rush on the order. We also ordered a second round of appetizers while we waited for the beef. They were just as interesting and delicious. Beef finally arrived and it was good. However, by that time, friends were concerned about getting their car back home before 3:00 pm and an experience that could have been lovely turned into a rushed, unpleasant one. Disappointing.
Service was very good. The food was exceptionally fresh and delicious. I wrapped the damped sea bass in a banana leaf. For dessert I torta de almojabana with Guava sauce. They use local farmers to insure freshness and help the community. Great place!
