The sandwich portion was big enough for two people and it was one of the best sandwiches we have had in a long time. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. Large drink selection to choose from. This restaurant is also a meat market where you can purchase their beef and park products. Yes, we definitely suggest stopping here while in La Crosse.
The one of the staff made me feel stupid, kept correcting me and grumbling while doing so, hands on his hips and all. I did not feel welcomed by him. The younger staff however smiled as I came in and said hello to me, were very friendly. Clean place and greatly decorated.
I was looking for a good butcher to get some beef bones for a phở broth that I was making. I randomly came across this place on Google. It 's hard to find a place that understands what kind of bones I 'm looking for because it 's not simply beef bones . Schuby 's blew it out of the water. Their staff was knowledgeable, kind, and made me feel so welcome. The extra knowledge they had on something cultural was a bonus and made me feel very seen. I will definitely be coming back regardless of the drive!
We bought one of their 16oz dry aged ribeyes today. It was the best piece of meat that I have ever purchased over a meat counter anywhere. Grilled it to an internal temperature of 140 degrees and the flavor and tenderness were spectacular.
It pains me to leave this review. I purchased the small charcuterie board that was advertised to serve 8-10 people. I ordered it thinking that it would allow for what should be 6 ounces of meat and cheese per person. I was stunned at how sparse it came. At best, it would be appropriate for 3-4 people. It seriously lacked in presentation. Not everyone is going to approach board preparation and presentation the same. They would benefit from doing a revamp and then posting pictures of what the boards look like, and also sharing how much food is actually included on their board in ounces. I was embarrassed and frustrated because this was supposed to anchor a casual lunch for clients (5-7 people) and it wasn't enough. I bought grapes at the grocery store and ordered extra potato salad to fill in where the meat and cheese were solely lacking. Purchase with caution.
