Bar Restaurant Mojaquero - La Campana

I called in last sunday for lunch as i often do.,i noted that all tables were full which wasnt unusual for this popular pub. i further noticed an important notic on the wall it said; NOTE YOU MUST NOW BOOK FOR SUNDAY LUNCH

We went into the mojaquero only to find it fully booked, what do we do now, anna suggested that we sit outside on the balcony, it was a lovely day so I thought why not. we started of with the usual superb salad and fresh crusty bread, then chicken soup, followed by beefsteak ,icecream and coffee con leche. we might be out on the balcony but the standard of the food hadn't changed. anna( the landlady) was as helpfull as ever, all together it was a very nice meal in what for them difficult circumstances. their standards haven't slipped, I feel if anything, things have improved there. recommended

As we drove near the mojaquero we fancied a bit of breakfast. We had visited the restaurant before and new it was going to be good, and it didnt let us down. We only wanted something simple although there was every tapas you could think of available. I ordered coffee with toast, butter and marmalade. Elaine ordered coffee,toast with ground tomato ontop. Anna the landlady soon brought over two large pieces of toast with the extra bits and two lovely coffees. It was about ten oclock when in came quite a few locals,it was break time in the local fields. I thought ,it is always a good sign when a place is frequented by lots of locals, food good well priced and goos atmosphere, we will try this again.

We parked the car in the car park at the side of the premises and strolled in. Luckily there was a table free in the corner of the restaurant section, it was 2pm and already busy as was the bar section. We started off with what I would call the best and biggest salad in the area, followed by a lovely home made vegetable consume, then fillet of beef washed down with a house red,and for postre arroz con leche,and then a coffee con leche. By the time we had finished our food the place was nearly full, the approximately fifty seats occupied, the atmosphere was good and the service pleasant and quick,a thoroughly good meal all for 10 euros each!! I will be there next sunday.
