The food selection is horribly overpriced for basic sandwiches and toasted sandwiches are not recommend but the cake/pie coffee sets are the real draw
I am so glad my little family stopped by to enjoy a quiet breakfast away from the hustle and bustle of tourism in the street. The garden views are spectacular and give you a secluded feel, yet the dinning room is large and airy. The breakfast portions were great along with plenty of flavor and options to choose from! The staff are courteous and tentative, as well as, speak good English. I highly recommend the mushroom soup! It’s some of the best I’ve had! Our dishes were all delicious though! Toward the end of the meal the waiter sets the tab on the table where when you are done you can pay up front. They accept card along as cash as an option of payment. Oh, don’t forget to try some dessert!
Ran out of cake. Sad face. Still a nice British sort of themed coffee place. Was a nice stop anyway. Has a large window view onto the outdoor seating and garden courtyard area where you can people watch.
Very lovely upper end cafe. The food was good and plentiful; the coffee tasty. Even the kids didn't complain. Just check to see when it actually opens before you make the hike to it. It was closed when we arrived, so we went on to Kyomizu-dera temple on empty stomachs. Luckily, it was such a great temple experience we survived on the vending machine coffee until after the temple visit. Lovely garden to view as you have breakfast.
Great traditional cafe transport you back to 1950's (i think). Coffee is brew with old and traditional method similar to drip but not quite the same. You put a large quantity of ground coffee in a coffee filter bag then pure hot water into the bag and let it drip down to a container. The result is a stong heavy body coffee with good clearity. Although you may not get the full character of the bean and fruity tone that you usually get from drip but you will get full aroma and full flavor of the coffee without bitterness if it is done right. Anyway great coffee and superb brunch at Inoda. Lovely place to sit down and have break from the buzzling street of Kiyomizu area.
