Vermillion Cafe - Kyoto

This restaurant seems like a lovely place and the staff can speak English. However, I was disappointed to find that the only vegan option available was the "hummus brunch" which seemed quite expensive at 1400 yen.

I seated myself at the restaurant and was disappointed to find that they had changed their menu to only offer non-vegetarian options. They were unable to accommodate our request for vegetarian dishes. I was puzzled why they were still listed on HappyCow if they served meat. It seemed like they were only catering to tourists and not a genuine vegetarian establishment.

This is the best matcha latte I have ever tasted! The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, and they spoke excellent English.

Came by chance over this place after the climbing mt inari. we sat on the back terrace, which had a beautiful river view. the roasted cauliflower soup was delicious and the vegan sandwich of the day was really good.

I didn't seek this out but was happy to see the word vegan on the sign coming down from Fushimi Inari so I stopped in and had some coffee and a sandwich. Good enough, especially for being a surprise, but kind of pricey.
