Milt's Pit Barbeque - Kyle

We love exploring outside of Austin. We took a drive to downtown Kyle, and discovered the BEST bbq. From the minute we walked in the young lady (cashier) was friendly. My mother needed a little time to review the menu, she was super patient. She even offered some assistance with any question regarding the menu. That was extremely kind! Everyone was nice! I ordered the most delicious bbq spud I've ever had. My mother had a brisket plate with a rib. We loved every bite! We enjoyed the food tremendously that we decided to order some brisket to take home. This is a great local spot. It's located in a cute downtown area. The food is amazing, plus the service is EXCEPTIONAL. We will continue to visit Milt's.

So, being from Texas, I believe I am automatically a bbq snob, a birth right I guess. So we are always looking to get a great bbq meal, and I understand that you can't please everyone. So let me tell you about Milts bbq in Kyle. We first walk in, and the the smoke smell was a very pleasant smell, not too heavy, just right. The menu is your usual meats, brisket, chicken, ribs, sausage. Same with sides. Potatoes salad, beans, Mac and cheese, cheesy corn, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. I ate the three plate special, I forgot the name of it, it had brisket, a link of sausage, and two good size pork ribs. Also had the cole slaw, and the Mac and cheese. The brisket was done to perfection, melted in your mouth, moist, great seasoning on the brisket, the ribs, fell off the bone, but still had a little pull on the meat. The sausage, well, it was Lockhart sausage, and that sausage is not one of favorites. The Mac and cheese, it was good, but it was missing some jalapeños, for me. The cole slaw is good. Maria had the smoked chicken, seasoned very well, the white meat was moist, the dark meat was a bit dry. She had the potatoes salad, good, and the beans, too sweet for me, but good. I do recommend this place for bbq.

I hate saying, but the brisket turkey were dry the sausage while flavorful, mealy. The scalloped potatoes rocked. Love the location hope it was a one of bad exp will try again.

Located in downtown Kyle. Service very good, bbq delicious. Really can't tell what a FABULOUS bbq is. My choice of meat was kinda dry, but the sausage was delicious. Its an authentic feel, id go back fir sure

I'm surprised this place has as many good reviews as it does. Maybe we caught them on an off day? The brisket was dry AF, the pork was marginally edible and everything was cold. Like, had they prepared this food two days ago? It did not taste fresh. Credit where credit is due, the staff was super sweet and the cornbread fritters were the bomb; we ordered a second serving. But seriously some of the worst bbq we have ever had. Stay away. Except for the fritters.
