The restaurant has a menu card, but when you try to order, they refuse, claiming it will take too long. Instead, they recommend certain dishes that they claim they can serve quickly. After reluctantly agreeing to their suggestion, it still takes them 15 minutes to bring out only half of your order. The vegetarian food was decent, but the fish was tough and a complete disaster. The staff seemed disorganized, with the person taking orders running back and forth between the cash register and tables. Other staff members seemed confused, serving non-vegetarian dishes even after you have specifically ordered vegetarian. I would recommend grabbing an energy bar or finding a faster option rather than dining at this place.
Way to Munnar just before Adimali is Farm Yard restaurant and with sufficient parking the restaurant is an ideal one have food. I have never seen the restaurant crowded but the few guests get good attention. Well maintained, clean and with good decor we can relax and the dishes are fresh and tasty though it may take bit time more to get the dishes you order. The chappathi and Kerala style chicken roast tasted good and they serve good hot tea.
Our group of ten stopped for lunch at this restaurant. The sharing tables were nice, the chappatis were hot, and the food was delicious. The toilets were clean and there was a shop on site. There are also a couple of ayurvedic places across the street, but be cautious of the speeding traffic.
Have been to this restaurant a couple of times and have seen it's glory days... it is certainly a disaster now.... even otherwise its is very strange that you have very few decent restaurants on this well travelled Kochi Munnar route. It is high recommended that you have to fill before you start from Kochi or plan your meals at Munnar... people still flock this restaurant because there are no other options except one at Neriamangalam. The food is now atrocious... they take orders... keeping your waiting for half an hour and then come and tell you that they do not have your food... last time we had to leave without eating after ordering because they could not supply the food... Guess it is due to bad management and the place looks under staffed and they are simply over whelmed by the lunch time rush there are no other places to eat nearby ... so manage your hunger break or else you have nobody else but you to blame...
