Fantastic galakrobouriko, coffee and pastitso. Full of Greeks looking for something good. We loved it. Very pleasant service from the owner.
Glyko Kafe is a Greek, family run business. We stayed in Capel Sound for a week on holidays and visited this cafe everyday for fresh coffee. I actually brought a cappuccino machine with me but their coffee is so good we had that instead! Service is great. The young girl who makes the coffee is such an asset to the business. She’s friendly and makes great coffee! There are heaps of homemade Greek desserts made here that are very tasty but a little pricey. The ambiance is ok. It gets very loud due to concrete floor and no noise absorption. The furniture is average. Besides this, I highly recommend dropping in.
One thing that stands out in this cafe is the wide selection of Greek pastries, served in large pieces. Even the baklava looked huge compared to the usual size seen in Melbourne, and of course, the price matches the size served. Here’s what I got:. Bougatsa $8)Cross section of Bougatsa. This Bougatsa is a pastry filled with custard filling and is sprinkled with icing sugar and some cinnamon powder. It has a nice mellow texture and is not too sweet at all.
