Good service very reasonable prices. Good breakfast menu with Indian western options. Would certainly recommend it when in Kumily.
This little gem is hidden away up some stairs and is probably best located during daylight so you know where you are going for dinner. Family run by a husband and wife team, the restaurant is open for breakfast until dinner. Small tables both inside and in the small garden provide about 20 seats and the decor is full of film prints, old cameras and radios etc, giving it an eclectic vibe. The menu is varied although not huge and chilled beer is also available. Our choices were the Ginger chicken with lemon rice and a spicy curry with rice and naan bread, both of which were superb. The husband does the cooking with his wife serving, and on this occasion also helped by their young daughter. Prices were very reasonable too. Whilst not luxurious, we felt we were getting a genuine family run Indian experience and if we are in Thekkady again we would not hesitate to return.
Everything is freshly cooked and the couple that is hosting is very welcoming ! We really liked all the plants and the cosy atmosphere and we ate freshly cooked food ! Definitely recommend it one of the best places here :
We called by for lunch. The place has a nice leafy ambience albeit overlooking some back yards. Menu is mainly “backpacker”. While first impressions were good, it seemed a bit grubby the table cloth/place mats in particular. We ordered two drinks, pancakes and an omelette. Despite only one other customer (who we overheard ordering chips just before we ordered), it took a good 30 minutes to receive our food. Food itself was fine, nothing special.
Excellent service, food, and ambiance. We had the Aloo Gobi and garlic naan and it was delicious. We will be back for sure!
