Przekaż informację zwrotnąBo Kwong is a charming Chinese Buddhist restaurant with a rustic and local feel. It may be a bit challenging for English speakers as the staff primarily speak Chinese. As a regular customer, I visit this restaurant almost daily for lunch, as it is conveniently located near my school where I teach. The staff and other customers are friendly and accommodating. The lunch special is $40, which includes soup (always vegan), rice, and a choice of two dishes, one of which is usually vegan. Alternatively, you can order from the menu, which has been translated into English by a regular customer named Mr. Lo. I recommend trying the rice dishes, which are generous in portion size and mostly vegan. Mr. Lo also provides labels on the menu to help vegans identify dishes containing egg, milk, or fake meat. It is worth noting that some dishes may contain egg or milk despite not being labeled, so it is best to double-check before ordering. Avoid fake meat if you are vegan, as some options may contain milk or egg products. The restaurant plans to provide ingredient lists for all fake meats in the future. The head chef and owner are strict Buddhist vegetarians, who are welcoming and passionate about their food. While they may not fully understand veganism yet, they are open to learning and accommodating dietary preferences. Overall, Bo Kwong offers tasty and affordable food, and they also make charitable efforts by providing food to the homeless three times a month.
This charming restaurant is filled with friendly elderly women. Although English is not widely spoken, they offer a full English menu. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are affordable. Highly recommend checking it out!
I have dined at this restaurant twice now. The first time, I chose from the set options with the help of a Cantonese speaker. The second time, when I visited alone, the set options were sold out. I was able to explain in English what I wanted to order, and luckily, a lady who spoke good English helped me choose a meal with rice, vegetables, and tofu. The dish included mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, tofu, and Chinese vegetables.
I had a great time here today. I rocked up and was invited to take a seat. I produced my little book which contains an explanation of what to include exclude to cook vegan. the waitress didn't understand. At this point a ripple went round the restaurant which I quickly suspected was people talking about me and trying to rustle someone up in the clientele who spoke English. I was correct and sure enough 2 slightly nervous girls smiling as they stepped forward came over to help me. They took a look at my little book, explained it to the waitress and then made some suggestions of dishes to me from the menu. I plumped for a mixed veg dish which was very pleasant and decent value at $56. As final grace on how people were in this restaurant, one of the girls came past when she was leaving and gave me a piece of paper with some Chinese writing on it. She explained that this was the name of the dish in case I wanted to have it again somewhere.
Bo Kwong is a quaint Chinese Buddhist restaurant with a rustic charm, located in a local area. The staff does not speak much English, but they are very friendly and accommodating. I visit this restaurant almost every day for lunch, as it is conveniently close to the school where I teach. I have dined here at least 50 times and have always had a pleasant experience. The lunch set costs $40, plus $4 for tea and a 10% service charge. Each meal includes a soup (which is always vegan) and a choice of two daily dishes, one of which is usually vegan. They also offer an alternative English menu, translated by Mr. Lo, one of the restaurant's masters. I would recommend trying the rice dishes, as they are large portions and mostly vegan. It is best to avoid dishes containing eggs or meat. Mr. Lo, who is not an employee of the restaurant but dines there daily, is very helpful in assisting Western customers with ordering vegan options. He has added labels on the menu indicating dishes with dairy, eggs, or fake meat. It is always a good idea to double-check before ordering, as some dishes may contain dairy or eggs without being labeled. The restaurant also offers fake meat dishes, but it is advised to avoid them if you are vegan, as some may contain dairy products. The chef and owner of Bo Kwong is a strict Buddhist vegetarian, and the team is friendly and welcoming. While they may not fully understand veganism, they are open to learning and accommodating to dietary preferences. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Additionally, the restaurant gives back to the community by providing meals to the homeless three times a month.
