Plaza Paradise - Kolymvari

We went on new years day and by accident really as everything else was closed. What a stroke of luck. We found a great local restaurant in an expensive area where most places are closed for the winter and most of spring. The food was perfect and the calamari and octopus were very fresh. The prices were cheaper than most and the food and portions better. Hey the service was disorganised but were in Crete in a local place and really that is what to expect. So to summarise. Absolute recommendation! Great location right on the harbor. Simple but honest restaurant all the fish and seafood dishes we had were fresh and tasty. Typical Cretan serenity is the order of the day here, but after all you are on vacation : A bit untypical, but the crepes for dessert were amazing! Despite the restaurant being empty, I waited 30 minutes to get service, and then an hour for a simple ceasar salad. The salad itself was unedible. Chicken SMELLED like 3 days old. Bacon was not cooked for the plate. Mayonese and balsamico tasted disgusting. During my week in Crete, only this restaurant was a dissapointment. Nothing worked (except the view was nice). Also they didnt have coffee or starters. In total the restaurant visit took 2 hours (also took forever to get the bill) before i could leave. The whole 2 hours I starved. Then I left starving to the closest super market. Consider before visiting this place. In addition, they charged us 3,60€ for a bread which they never served. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
