Yesterday we went to try this restaurant for the first time. Earlier, from the reviews and word of mouth, I did not have much expectation. As it was our occasion and my wife suggested me about this place, i was reluctant enough for yesterday's dinner. When we got in, we were the only couple in this restaurant. It seemed little strange to me! Anyway we were warmly welcomed there and the attending staff was quite polite and helpful. From him, we learnt that the available food is only the thalis at that time. We ordered a veg and a non veg thali for us. There were enough foods in each thali. We got polao, white rice, kachuri, aloo dam, daal, aloo vaja, sukto, chicken, mutton and fish items in non veg thali. In veg thali too, there were quite a lot of different recipes. We somehow managed to finish the food. Each recipe was good to taste but mostly on the sweeter side. Mutton recipe was spicy one. We enjoyed the food. Now coming to the ambience, the place was decorated to give a feel of bengali babus culture. If I am not wrong some of Ramprasad's song were on air in a low tone. Visiting this restaurant changed my skepticism about the place. The restaurant was quite good, recipes were quite fine too. Ambience was worth praise. I did not find any fault why other people spread so negative feedbacks about this restaurant. I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and other family members.
It's a great place ! Food is dope too !My suggestion, try out the FISH FRY out there ! It's the best of its kind. The staff is also very polite !
The rice combo which i ordered for had dal, thakurbarir palong kopi salad and rice. I loved the preparation of palong kopi..I felt that the amount of rice , if increased, would just be perfect for the amount of the dish..otherwise... Just loved the food
This place was in my bucket list since very long but finally managed to visit there last week. They new launched their thali menu and we opted for it as we wanted to have bhuribhoj. The chicken or mutton thali which only costs 499, had a huge spread of authentic bengali menu and all the items were superbly delicious. The quantity is enough for one. Just have a look what we had and book your date.
