I think being a citizen of Kolkata we all should try these remarkable places which had made a special place in the heritage and culture of the city. So, I had visited this place and tried some of their specialities including:<br/ Dimer devil: A ball made of a half boiled egg and minced mutton filling and golden fried with a thin batter of bread crumbs. Tastes amazing, crispy outside and soft inside because of the highly flavourful mutton keema. With a hint of kasundi on the top, you can feel to be on cloud 9 while having this.<br/ <br/ Foul cutlet: Don't get carried away by the name, it's not at all a spare or foul item to be honest. It's a must try if you visit this place. Basically this a cutlet made up of chicken keema, shredded onions, salt and pepper and deep-fried with a coating of bread crumbs. Made with so simple ingredients yet tastes so amazing.<br/ <br/ Mete curry with bread toast: This is actually a bengali mutton liver curry cooked in authentic spices. It was a little bit on the sweeter side but complimented well with the bread butter toast. One can try this combo as well.<br/ <br/ A gentle reminder: One should definitely reach this place by 7-7:30pm at the evening to get everything available.
This is a restaurant is situated in Girish Park crossing just beside the Girish Park Metro Station.<br/ <br/ This is an old restaurant of North Kolkata. They serve traditional dishes like fish Fry, chicken and Mutton cutlet along with bread toast. The also provide chicken stew and also tea.<br/ <br/ The recommended dish is the Egg devil. Which is big in size and the egg is coated by super tasty Masala(pur) made up with Mutton kima. The size of the egg devil is huge and is enough for one and the taste is equally fascinating.
Food quality was great. I will start mentioning about Kasundi (mustard sauce). As usual I had it with vegetable chop and it gave<br/ me a kick to my tongue immediately, so raw it was. I asked them where they buy it from and answer was home made. <br/ Vegetable chop was a jumbo in size with full of vegetables, best in class. In dimer devil you will get a full duck egg, a value for money. <br/ Bread with mutton stew is a very popular dish here and a must try here.<br/
The famous heritage restaurant for over 100 years is a must Destination for cutlet lovers. Been here several times, the must try item should be the giant vegetable chop with variety stuffing, the mutton devil is also a must try along with mutton cutlet.
