XII Apostel Koln

I had dinner with my partner at XII Apostel and sat outside in the cosy courtyard. Make sure to reserve a table in advance if you wish to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the terrace. The restaurant is large and might be a bit too noisy depending on the area.. However, the menu will seduce you with its vast choice of beverages (great cocktails) and food. If you don't fancy Italian food, you may still order a vegetarian dish, meat or fish. The restaurant offers a great location on the Heumarkt square.

Had dinner with some colleagues on the terrace on a summer night. Nothing too fancy, but a nice local menu and beers. It's a relatively touristic area, so it can be quite busy around the restaurant. Food and staff were good.

Visited with a group of colleagues whilst in Cologne. We all had pizza or pasta and all were delicious. Very big portions too so nobody was left hungry. All washed down with very good wine.

My work group alway visits XII Apostle when we are traveling to Cologne from the States. The menu is extensive. I'm not a pasta fine so I stick with the salmon which is always excellent. My only complaint is that the restaurant is so dark I have to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. The service is as good as any restaurant in Old Cologne-- not great.
