Found it by walking by. And what a find it was. Small, elegant restaurant featuring charcuterie and meats from Spain. Impeccably presented and colorfully explained. Paired with some of the best Rioja I have ever had. If you are in Cologne and you are tired...of Kolsh beer and pork knuckles, this is a fantastic alternative.

We ended up at Royal Iberico by chance during a business trip. The owner and chef was super gentle and patient with us he even prepared two pasta dishes for our vegetarian colleagues (yes, strange choice to go to a steakhouse with vegetarians, but...we didn't really checked the menu before seating). Meat was great very juicy pork, perfectly cooked with just some herbs, salt and pepper. Taste and texture were both perfect. Only improvement could have been on portion size, but I understand this is pretty high-end meat, so portions needs to be proportionate to price. Wine selection was nice given the size of the restaurant. Dinner was completed with some Spanish brandy offered by the owner a a very nice final touch for our dinner. Overall, a very nice evening and the best pork I've tasted in a while!
