This is the bar/restaurant of the Mercure Hotel Severinshof, worth a try. Good Kölsch and finger plates but also a decent menu for small and big hunger. Sounds that the wines list is also good, though I did not try any.

Well, one of these hotels you only use if you find nothing else. There's nothing special here and everything is kind of gray in gray. A very good breakfast and nice staff can not save much. I'm not gonna look in here anymore.

Very clean rooms and great furnishings. Breakfast is very abundant and delicious. The staff is also very friendly and hearty. In general, the food beer is very clean and large. a meal is for everyone.

In the Mercure Hotel Severinshof I have lived again and again since 2006, last March 2016. With more than 250 rooms, the hotel is ideal for tourists and business travelers. There are good reasons why I feel so comfortable there. The hotel is located on the border between the attractive Cologne old town and the lively Severinsviertel. With lighter luggage you can walk from the main station. There are only a few steps to the Rheinbank. The riders will find the hotel and its spacious underground car park at the intersection of the transversal north-south road via the Severinsbrücke. The connection to public transport is excellent, three subway lines hold directly at the house. I always felt the rooms very pleasant whether it was a simple room or a junior apartment. This time I had booked for my wife and myself a “privileg room” that was almost huge and with its balcony and a kitchenette was also suitable for permanent residents. It was equipped with a very comfortable double bed, a folding sofa, a dining group with three seats, a desk, several chairs and a neat wardrobe. Unfortunately, the big TV was only really good to see from the bed. Minibar and coffee machine were well stored. Everything was perfectly tied together and pieksauber. The small bathroom was stylishly decorated, well equipped and well lit perhaps because so the stainless steel flaps of the outlets fell into the eye that were ugly dirty. I don't think it was on the maid, because with his work we were very happy. Rather, it is likely that a special cleaner (e.g. INNO X) was missing. And there was a significant danger. The shower wall fixed to the bathtub reached almost the point at which the tub rises obliquely as a backrest. They had to circle around the partition to climb or leave the tub correctly, but there was no handle mounted at appropriate height. The whole thing was particularly recommended to the anxiety area when soap water influenced the anti-slip profile of the tub in its effect. We have exaggerated it unharmed, but I have seen the image of an amis with country-typical BMI of 35, and the punishment of damage to American courts in case of a fall. The privileged room includes a daily newspaper and a bottle of mineral water daily. It didn't always work. Our complaints were answered immediately. The extremely friendly and helpful staff was always ready to make the request of the guest himself. Room prices vary according to requirements. At fair times it becomes really expensive, otherwise it goes from 99 €. Now were for the large room to pay € 124 per night. In addition, breakfast costs €14 per person. Who, like us, like eating extensive breakfast will be happy there. The buffet is rich and is constantly maintained. Those who prefer to get a little cheaper on fasting can find themselves in nearby bakeries. location, cleanliness and friendliness I really recommend this seemingly very well-run hotel.

The room was clean and there is also plenty of space. Breakfast is good and sufficient. It's just a pity that the minibar is not filled in the room.
