Da Capo - Trattoria, Restaurant - Köln

We actually like coming to this nice Italian restaurant although on the last couple of occasions things didn't really go to plan. On one evening we were served by a young waitress who admitted being new to her job and quite frankly she made quite a mess both of taking our order correctly and bringing out all our food and drinks on time. One member of our party was particularly impatient having discovered that his first course had not been entered "into the computer". We found ourselves eating various courses at different times to each other. And checking whether we wanted more drinks was a hit & miss affair. On the second occasion it was a bit quieter and we were served by the lady whom we assume runs the place. Anyway, even on this occasion she delivered the wrong pizza and we both only discovered the mistake after I had hungrily dug into it. It was presumably meant for someone else but as I had started it I felt duty bound to finish it. Only that meant that I had eaten well over half of my meal before the main courses for the others in my party had arrived. Whilst we like coming here we are becoming more doubtful and would certainly recommend the owners to take more attention to the detail here in the future.

Nach dem Umzug an die Gleueler Strasse / Gürtel sind wir mit unseren Eltern zu Gast gewesen. Neben der Standard Karte gab es eine Tageskarte, für jeden ist etwas dabei, dabei aber nicht zu viel, was ich prinzipiell bevorzuge.Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker, zügig ging es auch. Für die zwei Kellner war allerhand zu tun, daher musste man schon manchmal wild gestikulierend auf sich aufmerksam machen, wenn die 200 ml Kölsch sich schon wieder dem Ende geneigt hatten. Nichtsdestotrotz immer freundlich und Schwiegermama zufriedengestellt .

Bei Da Capo lohnt es sich wirklich zu essen.Der Kellner sind freundlich, man wird schnell bedient.Neben der normalen Speisekarte gibt es noch Tageskarten, welche dem Besucher auf einer großer Schiefertafel dargeboten werden.Die Spaghetti Bolognese war zwar sehr lecker, allerdings hätte man die Spaghetti länger abtropfen lassen sollen. Die Sauce wurde so etwas zu flüssig.Eine Pizza proscuitto gab es auch noch, welche ich nur sehr empfehlen kann.Der Boden war nicht zu dünn und vor allem nicht zu dick. Der Belag war sehr lecker und ansprechend angerichtet.Vor dem Essen bekommen alle Gäste noch ein Körbchen mit sehr leckerem warmen Brot und dazu, wahrscheinlich selbst hergestellte, kräuterbutter.Das preis Leistungs Verhältnis lässt sich zudem auch sehen.Wir werden wieder hier einkehren

The venue is located in the student’s quarter of Cologne. Parking on the street is possible but the available parking lots are often occupied. They have a small outside and a large inside dining area. The menu is large enough with a large menu of the day. We had Bauletti filled with goat cheese and lemon sauce, a Dorade and veal liver. The food was yummy. The wine too. The service was very slow in the beginning but with the restaurant emptying it was good. Maybe two people serving is too less. The price-performance ratio was great, that’s why I give four points.

Auch nach dem Umzug bleibt das Da Capo ein super Restaurant! Die Bedienung ist stets freundlich und aufmerksam und die Küche spitze. Personell hat sich nach dem Umzug auch nichts geändert! Da lohnen sich auch die paar Meter mehr zur Gleueler Straße! Wir bleiben den "Da Capo" treu.
