Service was great here too. If you’re in Kodiak stop here for a meal. They do have beers on tap so that’s an option as well.Food: 4/5
Get the pizza.Came for Breakfast on a Sunday. Only one server, she continuously apologized for being the only server. Not the end of the world, we weren 't in a hurry.Ordered chicken fried steak it came with nothing but potatoes, no eggs. And the steak was the thinnest and smallest piece of meat I have ever seen for chicken fried steak. Good flavor to all of it, but not worth $18, maybe $10. Definitely didn 't fill up my husband. The other things we got were OK but portions were on the smaller side.Came back to get a pizza later in the week (because of a recommendation from a bartender in town) . And THAT was amazing. So while I don 't recommend them for breakfast, if you want a good pizza, this is the place in Kodiak.
The halibut dinner was excellent, but most everything else we’ve eaten here over the last several days has had issues. The Fisherman’s Stew was thin and saucy, the sandwiches have a lot of bread and not a lot of filling, we got about 10-12 French fries on our plates. The Tijuana Street Fries are identical to the Olympia Fries, except for taco meat instead of gyro meat, including feta cheese and tatziki sauce (which was very good). They’re trying with the wait staff, at 2 of whom have only been here a couple of days. The singing guy behind the bar is fabulous. We’ll probably be back, but not very high expectations.
Started off with a dirty table from earlier. Someone had made an attempt to clean, but missed a lot. The food was mediocre at best with one person receiving an ordered Shepherd's Pie made with marinara. The server Manager seemed more interested in dancing and singing than attention to the product being served. Soft drinks come in plastic tumblers, a style that I used and disliked, as a kid over 50 years ago. The menu offerings sound great, but the three meals we ordered were not worth the price or the time it took.
I stayed 4 nights in their “hotel” room and it was like a studio apartment and impeccably clean yet “homey” at the same time. It’s right above their restaurant and it is still quiet upstairs in the room. The food at the cafe is fabulous and they have a good selection of beer on tap. Owners very accommodating. I would recommend staying in this hotel for a place to settle in for a few days.
